Background on Social Security Linkfest for North Carolina US Congressional and Senatorial Interviews and Races

If there’s trillions of dollars difference
between publicly outstanding debt investors can buy and sell
and non-marketable intragovernmental debt
who is it owed to
who has to pay how much more back and when
and why would those who know or should and don’t
let the country borrow trillions from itself
and why are most Americans unaware?

If there was more than $11 Trillion in Federal Debt
and there’s less than $7 trillion held by the public
where’s the rest?

http://hartzman.blogspot.com/2014/02/i-disagree-with-bernie-sanders-on-this.html

Some in our country think that Social Security is a trust fund
in other words there's a pile of money being accumulated…
because you put money in the government saves it for you
and then when you retire you get it out…

That's just simply not true

The money, payroll taxes going into Social Security, are spent

They're spent on benefits and they're spent on government programs

There is no trust

We're on the ultimate pay-as-you-go system…

The only thing Social Security has is a pile of IOUs
from one part of government to the next…
therefore when you have more retirees living longer for greater benefits
with fewer people paying in
the system inevitably will go into the red

George W Bush

President Barack Obama's myRA savings plan appears to be a Ponzi scheme; George Bush, Ron Paul, Paul Krugman etc...

does Social Security operate under the same structure
with mandatory participation?

Where US Senate Candidate Thom Tillis Stands on Some Issues

"Government has simply become too big, too expensive, and too intrusive in our lives and businesses.

...In the Senate, Thom will be a stalwart conservative reformer, pushing at every opportunity for the tough decisions it will take to balance the budget every year by cutting spending, and reducing our outrageous $17 trillion national debt. Thom believes in the "Cut, Cap, and Balance" approach - cut spending now, cap spending in the future, and require a balanced budget every year."

Libertarian North Carolina US Senate candidate Sean Haugh's answers to some economic questions from The People's Alliance

PA question #1: What do you see as the primary sources of our current economic problems? How would you begin to reduce the federal deficit? Is this an issue of not enough revenue or of overspending? What are some of the possible negative consequences of your proposed solutions?

My answer: It's super simple math, people. We are spending more money than we have. We need to cut spending drastically, starting with the war budget and corporate welfare. We also need to audit the Federal Reserve and stop their inflationary policies of printing more money. We need to base our economy on the needs of all the people, not just the bankers. I don't know if there's a way to do that without completely privatizing money. There are obviously never any negative consequences to any of my solutions, except maybe to those who make their living off of looting the economy.

News & Record Letter to the Editor; David Hagan’s commissions don’t serve taxpayers

"On Sept. 3, and again on Sept. 17, Robbie Perkins and Nancy Vaughan knowingly voted to give fellow Greensboro Country Club member David Hagan, who serves on the Community Foundation’s board, about $586,000 in commissions for purchasing performing arts center properties.

The city of Greensboro has four real-estate brokers who could have purchased the properties for no more than their salaries.

I believe Perkins, Vaughan and the Community Foundation’s Walker Sanders, who was involved in the negotiations, did not act in the best interests of Greensboro’s taxpayers concerning these real-estate transactions.

I call for David Hagan, who is U.S. Sen. Kay Hagan’s brother-in-law, to forfeit his commissions."

Luckily or by connection, David is both the seller's and buyer's agent for a $1,241,000 real estate transaction between the Community Foundation (CFGG) and the seller of 125 Summit Avenue for the GPAC, while serving on the CFGG Board with Walker Sanders.

Husband

In October 2008, The Politico reported that Hagan's husband Chip Hagan III, a former Democratic county leader, had been a member of 1,000-member Greensboro Country Club for years, despite the club's de facto segregation and refusal to admit black members.[16] Hagan herself was not a member of the club. Greensboro Country Club admitted its first black member in 1995.[16]

Wikipedia

Greensboro was one of the last clubs in the area to integrate, although African-Americans make up about 35 percent of the local population. Chip Hagan inherited the club membership from his father.

The head of the National Republican Senatorial Campaign criticized Hagan for not demanding that her husband leave the club earlier. http://projects.newsobserver.com/under_the_dome/hagans_country_club_troubles The first black member to be sponsored was Robert J. Brown, a former aide to Richard to Nixon, according to press accounts at the time.
Flanagan said Chip Hagan “has been a member his whole life” and inherited the membership from his father, a well-to-do former Marine Corps general and local attorney.

http://www.politico.com/news/stories/1008/14815.html

Greensboro was one of the last all-white clubs in the area to integrate. In the mid-1990s, members claimed they had never received an application from a black person, even though African Americans make up about 35 percent of the local population — and the city was site to groundbreaking civil rights demonstrations in the 1960s.

This isn’t the first time Chip Hagan has become an issue in the campaign. Over the summer, Republicans blasted him for owning stakes in several domestic oil wells as gas prices were skyrocketing.
