Roch Smith Junior on Greensboro City Council Control of the City Attorney

"The city has an attorney who has an adversarial stance, by default, towards American values like free speech, public access, transparency and accountability.

City council approves...

It comes down to the default posture: currently obstructionist and overly secretive -- and it has the stamp of approval of the current council."

Another Hartzman deception. Please do not chop my emails without an indication you have done so. The message in its entirety makes the point better anyway, so maybe you will be so kind as to post the whole thing.

The comment in its entirety;

"I'll explain it to you: The city has an attorney who has an adversarial stance, by default, towards American values like free speech, public access, transparency and accountability. City council approves. A different attorney, with a different orientation, could just as easily and, probably, more convincingly, make a legal argument for why you are perfectly within your rights to wander around the farmer's market and introduce yourself as a candidate, or why Yes!Weekly should be allowed to publish their articles, or why citizens should be able to know the extent of the City's public surveillance, etc., etc.

It comes down to the default posture: currently obstructionist and overly secretive -- and it has the stamp of approval of the current council."
