School crossing gaurds, Increased fees, closing Greensboro Sportsplex

"City Manager Denise Turner Roth has recommended [the following] to help close a $7.1 million budget gap.

• Eliminating school-crossing guards from eight schools. Savings: $69,000.

• Closing the Sportsplex, an indoor recreation center for basketball, soccer, volleyball and other sports in northeast Greensboro. Savings: $120,000 a year.

• A new $10 fine for parking tickets 90 days past due.
