"N.C. regulators have approved Duke Energy’s proposed 7.2% rate for this state in a ruling that will raise the typical residential customer’s bill an average of $7 a month.
...The compromise ...will raise about $309 million in new annual revenue from customers.
The new rates will go into effect next month.
Under the agreement almost all customers — residential, commercial and industrial — will get the same 7.2% increase.
On Wednesday, the S.C. Public Service Commission approved a 6% increase for Duke customers in South Carolina."
