Civilian Labor Force Estimates
for Guilford County
The Employment Security Commission
If June, 2009’s Guilford County Labor Force had 3,422 fewer workers than June, 2008, while the number of employed workers compared to last June fell by 16,652,
and 3,422 + 16,562 = 19,984,
and 2007 Average Earnings Per Job was $38,900,
and 19,984 x $38,900 = $777,377,600 (that’s million!),
has the income of Guilford County’s population lost at least $777,377,600, not counting pay cuts and lost under-the-table jobs since June, 2008?
Guilford County's unemployment rate
climbed to 11.7 percent in June from 11.3 percent in May
Via Greensboro News and Record, July 24, 2009
If there were 248,793 workers in Guilford County’s Labor Force in June, 2008,
and $38,900 x 248,793 = $9,678,047,700
and $777,377,600 is about 8% of Guilford County’s $9,678,047,700 employee income
why would Greensboro’s City Council approve a projected 3.5% revenue fall for 2009-2010’s budget, 3 months before an election?
