Great pic of Robbie and Zack at the launch of Matt Brown not doing what's in the best interests of Greensboro's taxpayers by agreeing to run a competing venue simultaneously

GCC will receive $115,000 for running Joel Coliseum

Did the city do any kind of analysis of the cost of Greensboro's resources put to this effort?

Will Greensboro taxpayers be subsidizing the promotion of events at non-Greensboro facilities?

Lawrence Joel Veterans Memorial Coliseum

The Lawrence Joel Veterans Memorial Coliseum (also known as LJVM Coliseum, Joel Coliseum or simply The Joel) is a 14,407-seat multi-purpose arena, in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.

Greensboro Coliseum Complex

The Greensboro Coliseum Complex is an entertainment and sports complex located in Glenwood neighborhood of Greensboro, North Carolina, United States. Opening in 1959, the arena was once one of the largest venues in the South, with a seating capacity of over 23,000.

Should City Council have weighed in on something like this?

From the press release;

“This agreement will ensure that the Piedmont Triad region will be given every opportunity to host as many live events as possible,” said Matt Brown, managing director of the Greensboro Coliseum Complex.

This increased flexibility will hopefully result in more live entertainment events in the Triad, creating a win-win situation for residents of our region.”

Matt's supposed to work for win-win's for Greensboro, no?

So Matt doesn't work just for Greensboro anymore?

I don't see how this deal doesn't hurt Greensboro, NC.

WTF?

So the Coliseum deficits pop?

Aren't we supposed to be drawing crowds from Winston for the new performing arts center?
.
.
"The arena has hosted concerts by many famous artists, spanning many different genres. The LJVM's amply large size makes it an ideal location for performers who wish to perform at smaller venues.

The main arena can also be curtained off to create a theater-like setting."

How is it that Robbie and Zack think this is a great idea?

I didn't even recognize Robbie since he didn't have that annoying smirk he uses when you and other regular taxpayers address the city council.

The entire Winston-Salem thing makes no sense
