Two fifths of Guilford County was served by the Department of Social Services last year

...Department of Social Services [DSS] director Robert... Williams told commissioners that his department served about 200,000 people last year — about 92,000 of whom needed food assistance. That assistance ranged from as little as $15 or $20 for an individual to $300 or $400 for a family, Williams said."

If there are about 500,000 that live in Guilford County, and about 200,000 received services from the DSS, then two fifths of Guilford County is somewhere near the poverty rate.

We need jobs.

We need good paying manufacturing jobs.

We need a well maintained infrastructure.

We need to prioritize public safety.
