Nancy Vaughan's Big, Big Money Lead

Bill Knight spent about 37k running for Mayor.

Yvonne Johnson spent about 41k

Robbie Perkins spent about $51,000, and gave the rest to Ross Harris, who many believe ended up getting paid by Greensboro's taxpayers via the GPAC Task Force.  The GPAC taskforce has so far declined to detail where the last $400k was spent; 1/2 from the city, and 1/2 from Walker Sanders "unknown donors" who supposedly put up the other half, which was dependent of the city $.

If Robbie ended up with a negative balance after the last election, and is starting out with relatively nothing to spend, it will be interesting to see how much he can raise before the primary, considering his situation.

If Ross Harris is Robbie's campaign manager again, how is Robbie going to afford her?

Nancy Vaughan already has about 25k, or at least half as much as needed for the entirety of a conventional Greensboro Mayoral campaign.

Looks like Robbie and Nancy have the usual Greensboro establishment campaign pocketbooks spoken for.  To acquire more political advertising revenue, expect our local news industry to heavily advocate for more entrants to the race, even though the clear establishment leader appears to have what may be an overwhelming advantage.

The question for our local press at this point, is whether or not they choose to inform their readers and others looking to run what the actual situation is.

As the papers and TV outlets will receive nothing from my campaign, I am expecting minimal coverage and negative news items, as I am refusing to line their pockets to win.

Our local news industry has an amazing propensity to provide more news coverage to those who buy more radio, TV and print advertising.  Those who don't pay up with their campaign contributors cash, get sidelined and marginalized, regardless of the quality of character.
