The Rhino's John Hammer refuses to report on Downtown Greensboro's noise ordinance for the fourth straight week

Lying by omission

One lies by omission by omitting an important fact,
deliberately leaving another person with a misconception.

Lying by omission includes failures to correct pre-existing misconceptions.

…Propaganda is an example of lying by omission.

"Prior restraint or prior censorship is censorship
in which certain material may not be published or communicated...

Prior restraint prevents the censored material from being heard or distributed at all...

Prior restraint often takes the form of a government order
prohibiting the publication of a specific document or subject.

Sometimes, a government or other party
becomes aware of a forthcoming publication on a particular subject
and seeks to prevent it: to halt ongoing publication and prevent its resumption.

...“Freedom of the Press” is defined as the right to be free from prior restraints.

Thus it is often considered to be the most extreme form of censorship.

A prior restraint, by contrast and by definition,
has an immediate and irreversible sanction."

The Rhino Times has never been a real newspaper. It is entertaining, informative and occasionally, it breaks news. However, to assume it has any duties other than keep John Hammer from having a real job is crazy. The Rhino's bread and butter is the nightlife in downtown Greensboro; he's not about to pour any salt on it.

"the Rhino's bread and butter is the nightlife in downtown Greensboro"? What? Have you even looked at a Rhino lately? They have no bread or butter...much less any nightlife on any pages of the paper anymore. Even Scarfone has dropped his ads.
