New Year Thoughts VII

Don’t believe everything you think, do what you don’t want to get what you don’t need, criticize if it won’t help, confuse compassion with justice, want what you can’t get, boast, envy, obfuscate, conclude what you want because you want to, confuse effort with result, afflict inanimate objects with conjured meaning, think you need what you don’t, tread on others unless they’re treading on you, cut what can be untied, want more than you need, consciously over-compensate for unconscious doubt, say more than do, catch falling knives, lose your temper unless it would be bad to keep it,

over-sacrifice need for want and vice versa, spend more than you make, or swim with the incontinent.

.

Always and never

are two words you should always remember never to use.
