Who exactly owns the building?
It was sold in October of 2009, from Sit In Movement, Inc. (a non profit) to a NC LLC called Museum Landlord, LLC, the registered agent for that LLC is ICRMC, LLC, whose registered agent is Melvin Alston.
I wonder if these entities are non profit or for profit.
It would be interesting to see who is profiting from all the donations and tax dollars.
I sure hope that the Landlord is not fleecing the taxpayers.
Two such projects (the proposed hotel) in the same general area would be too much.
I wonder if one of the N&R reporters could write a story about these issues?

Skip Alston and Earl Jones have never relinquished ownership of the building. This is why the project was stalled and they couldn't get private funding because those willing to chip in wanted Alston and Jones out of the picture. They refused so there was no private funding. So A & J merely let some time pass for the public to forget and then hit the tax payers up again thru their bought and paid for representatives. BB
