For the second quarter ending March 31
the Postal Service posted a $2 billion loss
and 15% drop in mail volume
The 234-year old agency cut 50 million work hours last year
and is looking to increase the reduction
to 100 million work hours this year
which…equals a loss of more than 50,000 jobs this year
The agency is also mulling closing 3,100 post office and retail outlets
to help make the agency leaner
and the elimination of Saturday deliveries
