"Berkley Hall Gets Rezoning Approved for Proposed 288-unit Community Near Airport"

"The Greensboro Zoning Commission approved a rezoning for a proposed 288-unit community near Piedmont Triad International Airport:

The zoning commission unanimously approved a 288-unit apartment complex off Pleasant Ridge Road on Monday night.

Berkley Hall Cos. plans to build the $25 million project on land previously designated for industrial development northwest of the Piedmont Triad International Airport.

The commission rezoned the land to allow for the apartment complex to be built…

Berkley Hall plans to build high-end apartments with granite countertops, high ceilings and walk-in closets, partner Mike Murray said.

The complex of one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments will have a clubhouse, pool and a fountain at the entrance — a signature feature of the company’s developments, Murray said."

$54,820 - $39,777.89 = $15,042.11 during a non-election year?

"The Greensboro Zoning Commission earlier this week approved the rezoning of the 15.6 acres to allow for residential multifamily construction from its previous designation of light industrial use, said Henry Isaacson, a Greensboro attorney who represented landowners D&W Investment Properties, LLC at the meeting.

Isn't Henry Isaacson the Chairman of the Piedmont Triad International Airport (GSO)?

Does Henry Isaacson do business with Roy Carroll and Robbie Perkins?

Development costs are expected to be between $20 million and $25 million, Isaacson said. D&W Investment Properties is an affiliate of Guilford Realty, which had the 15.6-acre tract available for Berkley Hall to purchase subject to the land being successfully rezoned, Isaacson said.

The developers must wait for an appeal period to conclude by end of business next Thursday before moving forward on construction of the units.

“They’re anxious to get going,” Isaacson said.

Berkley Hall communities in the Triad include Fountain View in downtown Greensboro, Fulton Place near UNC-Greensboro, and New Garden Square near Bryan Boulevard in Greensboro."

I hear these documents were not online until this past week or so.

Is Henry allowed to represent Berkley Hall and D&W Investment Properties at the same time?

"Commissioners disagreed with the city staff’s conclusion that multifamily housing was inconsistent with the type of development in the area, which is a mix of rural land and offices.

Attorney Henry Isaacson, who represents the developers...

The commission’s decision will be final unless it is appealed in 10 days.

...City staff asked the zoning commission to deny the rezoning request.

They argued that the city’s future land use plans called for this property to be industrial or corporate development, given its proximity to the airport and highways.

Two area property owners agreed, expressing concern about whether they will be able to sell their land for industrial or corporate development in the future if an apartment building is nearby.

Commission members, however, agreed with Isaacson that apartments would be a good asset to the corporate parks in the area."

Our paper of record chose to not report it.
