On the $10 million GPAC bond and parking math

If the bond voted for by Greensboro City Council below assumes 3 people to a car and a 50% use of public parking decks at 160 annual shows, and the best case scenario has 275,200 admissions...

275,200 / 160 = 1,719 patrons per performance, even though some would have far fewer as some sell out.

1,719 / 3 = an average of 573 cars per performance.

As the map by City of Greensboro's Adam Fisher above notes, there are 488 free on street parking spots within 1,200 feet of the proposed site.

573 - 488 = 85 spaces that may be charged for in public lots.

Most folks from Greensboro would most likely avoid downtown if there's a show, so let's say 200 of the available nighttime free spaces aren't vacant as some go elsewhere within the 1,200 feet.

573 - 200 = 373

The Chamber of Commerce has 47, the News & Record has 168, and Gate City Lincoln and the Children's Museum have 156 = 371, without counting all the other lots.

At least 371 + 373 = 744 free public and most probably less expensive non-public parking.

1,719 / 3 = an average of 573 cars per performance.

At least 744 available probably less expensive non-public parking - 573 = 171 more non-public parking spaces per performance, not counting anyone paying to park in a deck.

Most would likely want to park in a lot with multiple points of egress as opposed to a deck with far fewer.

The map above appears to exclude the parking spot at the Marriot Hotel, where many will park for free with a night at the inn.  How many would be expected to stay the night?

I have not seen a parking study conducted by AMS for the GPAC taskforce, because it appears that they never bothered to study it with all the money Greensboro taxpayers provided.

I believe Greensboro's City Council voted on a GPAC bond that bypassed voters based on bogus math provided by AMS and OK'd by...?
If the worse case scenario were considered, it would be worse.

The numbers don't comport with the reality of the parking situation.

I believe Greensboro City Council's vote for the $10 million GPAC bond should be negated, due to what looks like a fraudulent means to Roy and Robbie's end.
