If Greensboro’s Convention and Visitors Bureau figured 6,000 relatively less affluent student athletes created $17 million for the local economy, why and how did who figure 7,850 relatively more affluent student and adult swim meet participants would only bring in $14 million?

The Convention and Visitors Bureau estimated the economic impact of this year's Junior Olympics at nearly $17 million.

The city’s tourism officials also made their pitch for the project as an economic generator. They predict the aquatic center could draw at least one major meet every month and have an impact of $14.5 million on the local economy.
