New City of Greensboro Give Away Program John Lomax and Sam Simpson knew about before the general public

First, as I’m sure everyone is aware, a new Resolution would need to be approved by the City Council. Second, this is a jobs based incentive. Under the current structure of the incentive, Mr.
Lomax is not “creating jobs”.

...Its possible that Council could, in its discretion, find a way to make an incentive for Mr. Lomax, but it will be exceeding its own guidelines to do so.

While it would be nice to have the ‘headquarters’ here, if they are not in fact creating jobs, then they would be misappropriating City money and we would have had to enact the clawback anyway.

Perhaps they are saving us litigation.

John,

Per our conversation, provided below are two possible support options the City could provide to help you with Gerbings needs.

Downtown Building Improvement Grant Program (new program – pending City Council endorsement in early January, 2014) – to be used for improvement to buildings in the form of rehabilitation of building exteriors, to make ground floor vacant space vanilla box ready, or to make other exterior improvements. Grants are for 20% of the total cost of the qualifying improvements, not to exceed $20,000 per project. Awarded on a 1:1 ratio.

Cannot be used in conjunction with DGI Retail Renovation Grant Program.

Downtown Job Creation Parking Assistance - free parking in a City owned parking deck or transit via GTA for a term of 1 year for each new qualifying job created. Must go before City Council for approval.

Please let us know if either are of interest to you or if you have questions.

You’re welcome and please do be very sensitive with your communications on the Downtown
Building Improvement Grant Program.
This item has not yet been formally shared with nor endorsed by City Council so it’s not yet a done deal (even though we do expect it to be endorsed in January and do believe it’s another good downtown ED support tool).

"...Cannot be used in conjunction with the DGI grant program...". John Lmax was also going to be recipient of a DGI grant in the amount of $25,000. The application was filed and funds reserved. This clearly shows that Zack Matheny and others can manipulate the system when convenient pushing the legalities of it all. Disappointing to see that Westmoreland was willing to be an accomplice. What was Matheny' commission? Will Hoffman now apply for, and syphon over $100,000 of new program for her spaces. The evil "aunt" knew all along. When will this blatant CORRUPTION end?

Mr Simpson maybe very well be one of the most influential - behind the scene- character in our city and county. He has made Matheny his bitch. I can guarantee that they will try again, Mr Lomax is not about to pass on all that free money.
