The fastest I have ever driven a car was on Christmas day, somewhere in the early 1980s

I was on my way, or on my way home from a friend's house who's mom invited me for Christmas morning, on account of I'm Jewish, and I was very close to their family.  They had a Betamax player and my buddy worked at a video store...  I once drank some tequila, ate part of a worm, threw myself through their front screen door and threw up in the bushes, and then they invited me for Christmas, and unbeknownst to me, bought me a present.

I drove on the highway between Bethesda and Rockville, Maryland, at somewhere around 135 miles per hour, for about 10 seconds, if not less, in a 1971, Mercury Cougar XR7, with bigger tires on the back;

My voltage regulator went out a lot.  I got it from my brother and painted it primer grey and black.  351 Cleveland engine.  The back blinkers lit in succession, which was cool at the time.

 I figured there would be very few officers out on Christmas Day.

Then I went home to get ready for dinner at a Chinese restaurant, which is/was a great family tradition.

Merry Christmas.

A guy I grew up with bought a brand new '71 Cougar XR-7 with a 351 Cleveland and still owns it to this day. Great cars.
