Have some of Greensboro’s political and business interests aligned to create short term gains to defend political legacies and faltering financial interests regardless of long term consequences to their community?

The first truth is that the liberty of a democracy is not safe

if the people tolerate the growth of private power

to a point where it becomes stronger than their democratic state itself.

That, in essence, is fascism,

ownership of government by an individual

by a group or by any other controlling power.

I have lived in Greensboro only five years so maybe I missed the time when Greensboro/Guilford was governed by ethical men and women. But having gone back and studied the records for the passed 20 years and having seen many of the same people on the Council and Commission that are still there today, well I suppose it had to have been 21 years ago or more. Then again maybe further study will merely indicate more of the same corruption and special interest groups preying on the rest of the tax payers with the help of their elected officials. BB
