Is it hard to get entrenched economic and political leadershipto understand if relative legitimacy depends on not understanding?

If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it

people will eventually come to believe it

The lie can be maintained only for such time

as the State can shield the people

from the political, economic and/or military consequences

Is it worse that America’s political leadership

didn’t see the financial crisis coming

or that most economists and business leaders didn’t know

or did and failed to inform the public

or that some legislators sharing relatively high portions of blame

pledged to find and punish those responsible?

If power can corrupt a few

can apathy devastate many?

The problem with socialism

is that you eventually run out of other peoples money

What should the electorate expect

from leadership dependent on the status quo?

Has the two party system

reached an unsustainable level of incompetence?

In a hierarchy, every employee tends to rise to his level of incompetence

In time, every post tends to be occupied by an employee

who is incompetent to carry out his duties

Work is accomplished by those employees

who have not yet reached their level of incompetence
